The forum will remain open as usual, but at the end of 18 August 2012 (GMT) certain permissions may be locked to prevent late entries.
Only games in the Finished category will be eligible for the main prizes. Games in any of the other categories will be eligible for the “most wanted” prize.
Voting will be open to all members, and new members can join in order to vote.
How should we handle bug fixes and post competition revisions? Is it alright if we update our download link, or do we need to keep the original file version available?
Please keep the original download available. But it’s OK if you update your main link to the bug fixed version. Please post a changelog.
We’ve took a snapshot of the games that were in the finished category, thanks for all the entries. Voting details will be published over the next 24-48 hours.
Tune for you all to relax and take a break. More soon.
So, it would be great if we could put together a video like the one on the welcome page with this years entries. I’m happy to capture some footage, as is @FalPatrick. Anybody else?
We’d also like to have a distributable archive of all this years entries. Maybe we should create a zip or a torrent like last year. And would a page of final entries be worthwhile?
Each user can vote for as many games as they like, but they can only vote for each game once. They can remove their vote at any point up until the voting deadline.
So, we have a couple of voting methods working on a test version of the site. We’re looking for thoughts on which might work best? Basically, which is easiest and most obvious.
A. Voting at discussion level (one discussion per game as already exists) for: Votes linked to game discussion against: You can only vote from discussion list screenshot
B. Voting at comment level (one comment per game in special voting discussion) for: All votes on one page against: Votes not directly linked to game discussions screenshot
C. Something else? Maybe a way to combine both - a single page with votes tied to discussion. This would be custom and would take further time to build…
“A” looks pretty straight forward. So would you create a new discussion group just for voting and then create new discussions for each game within that?
Ah, the screen shots had me thinking opposite. B sounds like the best bet to me too. I think adding voting buttons to the existing discussions would make it a bit confusing to find the correct link since the discussions all contain loads of chatter about the development and work-in-progress uploads and so on. B!
A download of all games also been prepared, including the “hopefully final” Moustache King Adventure (MKA) download. No more updates will be accepted after Sunday 2nd Sept.
We’re just doing a video trailer, and then we’ll launch voting this coming week.
The guys who made Moustache King Adventure (MKA) uploaded an update today. That is in our downloadable zip. We will refresh the zip on Sunday 2nd September, for the final distributable bundle.
Of course you can still issue updates after that date, but they will not go into the distributable zip that most people will want to download.
Does this Sunday 2nd apply to everyone? As in any version we submit before then will be eligible for judging in the contest? Or will just be included in the distributable bundle download? Also: What time on Sunday? As in midnight Saturday or 1pm Sunday or midnight Sunday or ?
Hey I just uploaded an updated version of the game but I forgot to add the AGBIC.com intro to it. Im doing it right now, I hope its not too late, I didnt send my game to any blogs or nintendo forums because I want to make sure it has the AGBIC name so I can spread the word, in the next 10 - 20 mins ill be updating the files again with the AGBIC intro.
Ok I updated the file with the agbic logo with the URL at the bottom so people can see. You can package that one. Here is the link that’s also in the post. DOWNLOAD HERE
@SnakeEaterITA Yep like Firehsaw said nothing in the extreme of adding more content of changing levels, just a bug fix here and there. Anything to make AGBIC look good so we can have a nice polish set of games! Some people video game careers can start here!
The winners are already known, if you look at the votes.
Please be patient waiting for an announcement. I am doing my best, but it takes time to put together a Press Release, GameCity7 presentation, round up all the prizes and so on.
