oh god what am i doing uh i chose this case ahahaha I’m gonna be working in Stencyl, I hope that’s alright. I’m thinking it’s gonna be a top down action game, basically a zelda but not nearly as long as a zelda So yeah! Wish me luck, I guess.
Arright, so pretty much all of my concept art is on paper, so I’m probably gonna have to scan all that sometime soon. In the meantime, I have a little digital stuff…

The story, as I’ve hammered out so far, is that there is a planet of dreams with a light side and a dark side (the yin-yang symbol). The ring around the planet keeps balance, but one day a shooting star hit the ring and cracked it, and now the dark side is trying to take over the light side. And you’re the one who gets sent out to fix this mess.
Not the *most* creative story I’ve thought up, but I’m working off of the cartridge and it just seemed the most appropriate.
well geez c’mon there’s a mystical sword RIGHT THERE
Edit: Don’t think I can do any more with this. I’ve got the character walking around and that’s about it. Unless I can find someone who actually knows how to program, this game is dead. As I thought it would be from the start.
Have you tried using something like Construct Classic or Multi Media Fusion? There’s very little programming required to get things up and running. Once I’d stopped faffing about with animating the title screen, I had the basics of my game play working within an hour. Admittedly my game is pretty simple, but I imagine you could make a simple top-down or side-scrolling zelda-like fairly simply with one of the WYSIWYG engines (also try Game Maker & Unity3D, or even RPGMaker). You’re lucky - you have the talent to draw, I think it’s much easier to learn the basics of programming than it is to get any good at drawing.
